WOW! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by Hatem and his stance, but I really am. He is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with this process. I hope that people are ready to over-rule the moderator. But given all the angst that will be in the room, good luck with that.

This should be an interesting meeting. Dee Trybig and Kally Abrams are going to deliberately circumvent the budget process and the will of the SB to increase spending. All I can do is shake my head and hope that cooler heads in the auditorium will prevail.

You ARE joking aren’t you? All taxpayer groups make recommendations.. why else do they exist? They are suggestions for those who don’t have time to do the research on who is the most ‘taxpayer friendly’ candidate.

I’ll bet you aren’t worried about them brainwashing the kids in the schools — they are doing more than telling them what to think these days.

I know we have free speech in this country but isn’t this a bit ridiculous! Stuff like telling intelligent people how they should vote is counter-intelligence and may even hurt the cause more than help. It’s lists like this that give conservatism a bad name.

Money spent does not always = education dispensed. I think that is what is at issue especially when there is so much remediation needed for college kids who can’t do fractions and such.

The question becomes, what ARE they learning in schools and why DOES it cost all that money? If you dig deeper you will find it is not the teachers nor is it being spent on paper and pencils, that is, if those items are still allowed anymore.

tax tired – Keep commenting because every time you do you dig the hole deeper and continue to prove my point about what a lack of education will do to a child. You better do your homework if you think what we have in Bow amounts to a private school education. One last thing and much to your dismay, I’m not going anywhere!

enoughalready: I agree with you on Jim Hoffman. I believe that Jim can bring a lot of needed business experience to the table when elected. He is very articulate and does his homework as you say. He has my support and vote.

Pansy Bloomfield needs to go. She has ALWAYS rubbed me the wrong way and that’s when ever she opens her mouth at town meetings.

Tom Keane & Rick Hiland for Selectman

Robert Louf for SB

Jim Hoffman for BC

I think it’s time to see what Jim can bring to the game. We all have seen his wonderful presentations at town meeting, he dedicates his time to go to the meetings and has done his ‘homework.’ I feel bad that the BC will lose Rick Hiland as ultimately it is the BC that sends a budget to the voters to change or approve.

Secrets ballots on EVERY article, or just the ‘big impact’ articles?

I agree with Rick’s (can I call you Rick or would you prefer Mr. Hiland? I’m always unsure) take on Moderator Imse. He has always been an open and fair Moderator. Now, if we’re talking about Moderator Hatem, that man needs to go. He has ZERO sense of the rules of the meeting, often violates the rules that he came up with. I have almost wondered why we don’t push to use RRO to protect those at the SB meetings.

I really hope that we won’t have another “education” session like we did on PAYT last year. If we truly are going to have ballot votes on every article, I’m guessing we’ll be having another date for the meeting as well.

FMKS – For My Kids Sake – I think your arrogance and self centered mentality and the arrogance and selfishness of all who claim to move to Bow for the school system and expect that all the taxpayers of Bow are going to fund what amounts to a private school for your sole benefit with all the frills. I do not buy that for a minute.

Someone needs to determine the meaning of education that the taxpayers are responsible for and what the parents are responsible for before we all go broke.

If you do not like it, move back to wherever you came from or to Bedford.
