publius: being on the internet is like being in an elevator – you never know who is listening and watching. You would not get it off lexis-nexis without an account, and it would have to be an account likely used by attorneys. You think you are anonymous.
How many more twists, turns, (lies?) can you make to convolute your efforts to hide your real agenda? Should I go the extra mile and reveal your identity?
You seem to hate anonymity yet you hide in it. Tell us who you are.

Folks, IMHO pubious is a plant for those who are lawyers and such, and who currently run Bow. Publius keeps trying to run this discussion. Why? His hidden agenda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Stay focused, let’s get all the publius’s out of office.

  2. Paul @ BCC says:

All, good discussion going on this website. I want to remind all that the comment section on this website is to express your opinion. Anonymous comments have to be considered opinion. Throwing out terms like slanderous is not acceptable and is a form of intimidation; please refrain from these kinds of attacks. This forum has brought out numerous discussions that will never make the papers for a number of reasons and the people of Bow need to know all sides of the story.

With that said we are interested in both electronic versions of the lexisnexis search and any public records on the bankruptcy and any info on any candidate’s conflict of interest. Also if any info posted (other than people’s comments/opinions) on BCC is found to be incorrect please let us know and we will post a retraction.

Keep the comments coming and send us the public records electronically.

  3. RLB says:

What is Selectman Crisp’s voting record on spending ? Does he vote everything carte blanche or is he more frugal in his voting record?

This might tell us if he has in fact learned anything about finances?

It is real obvious from a bankrupcy that he cannot manage his personal and business finances. How then could he be trusted to manage an $8million town budget?

  4. Paul @ BCC says:

I am sorry, you can send your electronic documents to paulrevere@bowcitizenscoalition.org.

  5. Teacher says:

I think correcting the spelling of others is considered ‘off topic’ as well, no?

I think it detracts from the conversation.

Typos are common on this kind of off the cuff posting but if you are really concerned for something that comes out wrong, you can always email the admin and have him fix it.

Being a newcomer to the comments on candidates it will take me awhile to catch up but my first comment is Taxedout knows what he is talking
about. Do not vote for Jack Crisp, better known as the berlin Bandit!!

  7. Hap@UIO says:

    To RLB;

Take a trip over to Manchester Brankruptcy Court and find Crisp s
bankruptcy. The judge was Judge Vaughn and the trustees Karonis and Sumski. Find the area where the case lists the debts of the Crisps. Note
the thousands and thousand of dollars they spent on credit card debt and
then they filed for bankruptcy. It is possible the credit card debt was about
$100,000 in todays dollars. Should Crisp have his finger in the til at Town of bow?

You talk like a lawyer. Even though you claim you don t know Crisp and are not a lawyer I do not believe you!! During Crisp´s election two
lawyers wrote in and praised Crisp. This was 3 years or so ago. The
letters were printed in the Bow Times. Neither of these lawyers identified
themselves as lawyers because they knew the voters in Bow would
identify them as being biased. Over the years in NH I have seen many letters to editor written by lawyers and they don´t divulge the fact they are
lawyers. It is called deceiving the public and my opinion is it is deliberate!

In Bow, if you have one, the dog catcher has a copy unless someone intercepted it. Look him up. If he claims he doesn´t have the news
articles go see the chief of Police, fire chief and ask for copies at town hall
because they have them as of recent. The woman who lost to Crisp as Selectman 3 years ago has one as well. The newspapers involved are
Berlin Daily Sun and the Berlin Daily. Crisp was bashed so bad he had to leave town in my opinion and he was in my opinion railroaded out of town
by the late Richard Bosa, former mayor of Berlin and a supporter in the
    Taxpayers Association in Berlin..

Thanks for your military service. Most lawyers I know were draft dodgers
and could not give a hoot about veterans!

    TO: RetiredVet:

You would probably get more information from the American Legion in Berlin than the papers. Even better, it is May now so take a ride up there and indulge in a cold beer or two and talk to the American Legion members
about Crisp and I know you will get an earfull!

  11. Hap@UIO says:

TO: Taxedout For the people of Bow a query has been made to the trustees of the Crisp bankruptcy regarding the down payment on his
home in Bow for $147,000 along with many other questions about the
bankruptcy. The trustees have not been very cooperative and will not divulge this public information.

April 2, 2009 a request was sent to Dept of Justice, Pennsylvannia Ave, NW Washington, D.C.
with a Freedom of Information document to be sent to the Bankruptcy
Court in Manchester. The writer of this request is awaiting an answer.
FOI request is public and it should be at the court in Manchester. HAP

  12. APOVinBOW says:

This tread seems a bit focused only on condeming Crisp. Pardon my negative POV. All elections seem work the same – we only get to choose between the lesser of evils. Can some one shed some light (postive or otherwise) on why any of the other candidates should or should not be supported. I think we have a pretty good idea about the issues surrounding Mr. Crisp at this point.

  13. Hap@UIO says:

    TO: Publius

Reference your comment April 23. 2009…

You state Selectman Crisp is under the obligations of the code of
Professional Responsibilty a legal requirement to conduct himslf with
professional integrity and honesty. Obviosly Selectman Crisp is under
fire about some of these issues.

I have read all the comments and I see no citizens slandering Selectman
Crisp and I see nobody smearing him.

As a selectman Jack Crisp is a Public Figure. In that capacity it leaves
much leeway by the law what people can write about him and not break
    the law.

What I see is a healthy debate going forth on a candidate for a position
of responsibilty and the people of Bow have the right to know about the
past of Crisp just like any other candidate.

When more of the truth comes out about Crisp he will not be elected.!!

  15. taxedout says:

WHat happened to the Jack Crisp Bankruptcy thread?

  16. publius says:

    taxedout,

As requested, I sent Paul my information that I acquired on the bankruptcy proceedings. However, as my source was trustworthy and verifiable, it was also copyrighted. So, in an abundance of caution, Paul took it down. However, if I’m not mistaken, as I’m not using the information, I believe if I sent the information to anyone electronically, it would fall under Fair Use. If you would like this information, feel free to as Paul, who can, if he so wishes, forward it to you.

  17. retiredvet says:

Here’s how I’m casting my votes….if it matters to anyone:

Eric Anderson and Robert Louf for selectmen

    G. James Hoffman and Cindy Martin for Budget Committee

    Thomas Keane for school board

  18. Hap@UIO says:

    To: RetiredVet:

Good show you voting for Anderson and Louf for selectman. Cindy Martin for Budget Committee. Thomas Keane for school board..

It is obvious you don´t buy the smokescreen Publius is pumping out because you are not voting for the Berlin Bandit, Selectman Jack
    Crisp!!

  19. publius says:

    Hap@UIO,

I’m surprised that given your desire to have a “healthy debate” you choose not to address the substantive issues I’ve brought up. Perhaps a closer reading of my comments will give you more more fodder for this debate. Unfortunately, the “I don’t believe you” line only works so far- my guess is the sandbox. ;-)

  20. RLB says:

I will absolutely talk to my friends and neighbors and vote for Tom Keane for school board in hopes that he will keep people informed with what goes on within the Bow school district as he has done a fantastic job as a Selectman. He possesses something that does not seem to exist anymore ….common sense and fiscal responsibility. He knows how to separate the wants from the needs as well as ask the right questions at the appropriate time.

I will vote for Eric Anderson for Selectman because he is a known quality person looking out for the best interests of Bow. Always has and probably always will.

I will vote for Robert Louf for Selectman because he is a good person with integrity and we definitely need a change considering the alternative that I read and learn about.

I will vote for Ms. Martin becasue she has done a very good job on the Budget Committee in her first term keeping a watchful eye on town finances and issues while keeping people informed from her bunker.

As far as the 2nd position on the Budget Committee, I am up in the air on my choice at this time between Ms Treybig, who has done a very nice job on the Recycling/Trash Committee and Mr. Hoffman who made the budget reduction presentation at the school district meeting???? This is a real toss up?? I need to hear more from the candidates.

  21. Hap@UIO says:

    To: Publius

I have every intention of addressing those so called substantive issue
you are claiming. As soon as I can wade through all the somescreens
you are throwing into the healthy debate to coverup for the Berlin Bandit
I will respond. On the inside the people in the know are aware why
we don´t have a Bow Bandit!!

Get back to you on saturday !! Hap

  22. publius says:

    Hap,

Thank you, in advance, for providing the information. I’ve no doubt we’ll find it interesting.

However, I must take issue with you using the term Berlin Bandit, unless of course this is meant as either satire or parody. Is it either, neither, both? The definition of “bandit” is “an armed thief who is (usually) a member of a band.” Are you suggesting that Mr. Crisp falls within this definition? (For those who are wondering, the definition comes from: wordnet.princeton.edu/).

As to the alleged, as you put it, “somescreens”: you’ll have to excuse me for posing questions that are slightly off topic for this thread. For matters unrelated to the BCC website, would you prefer I rather contact you by email?

  23. Hap@UIO says:

    Publius:

Jack Crisp as city attorney for Berlin, who ripped off the tiny city of
19000 people of over 1 Million Dollars (adjusted for inflation) was
acting as a public figure !!

As selectman for Bow he is also a public figure. !! Nuf said!!

    Hap

  24. RLB says:

What is Selectman Crisp’s voting record on spending as a Selectman? What is his voting record on spending as Selectman’s representative to the budget committee? Does he vote everything carte blanche or is he more frugal in his voting record?

This might tell us if he has in fact learned anything about finances?

It is real obvious from a bankrupcy that he cannot manage his personal and business finances. How then could he be trusted to manage an $8 million town budget?

  25. Hap@UIO says:

Where is the assets list of the Crisp Bankruptcy ??

Where did the $147,000 dollars come from for the house in Bow Crisp bought while in bankruptcy..

How does a man buy a house for $350,000 plus as well as run around in an expensive car while in bankruptcy..

Banks do not normally loan money to people in bankruptcy or diivorce!!

Crisp proved in his bankruptcy that he cannot manage his own personal
finances so he does not belong in Bow as any elected official.

  26. Rick Hiland says:

This is a no brainer as for my choice in this election for Selectman, I am supporting and voting for the proven fiscally responsible Eric Anderson and fiscally responsible local businessman Robert Louf for Selectmen on March 12th.

Something Bow can do without are spend thrifts, something Bow desperately needs are proven fiscally responsible officials in these economic times.

I am supporting the proven fiscally responsible Tom Keane for School Board and I am also looking forward to his School Board Reports.

I am supporting a proven fiscally responsible Cindy Martin and a very articulate fiscally responsible Jim Hoffman for Budget Committee.
