Tell Bow: Keep Spending Down
Tell Bow: Keep spending down
Van Mosher, BowI urge all Bow residents who are eligible to vote to attend the Bow School District meeting on March 14 at 7 p.m. at Bow High School.
With the dramatic drop in the value of our homes (except in the eyes of the tax assessor), and tough economic times projected in the future, we must go to the meeting and let our elected officials know it’s time to keep spending down.
There are so many issues that must be addressed at this meeting. One is the controversial International Baccalaureate program. Why do we need this costly program when resources are tight and NECAP test grades still suggest that we need to address the fundamentals? Bow already has an effective AP program for students who require a higher level of learning for college entrance.
The IB program teaches their students to be critical thinkers and caring world citizens.
As a critical thinker, I don’t believe everything I read and hear. As a critical thinker, I went to bowcitizenscoalition.org and read about the pros and cons and decided for myself. I urge you to do the same. As a caring person, I ask the school board to reconsider taxing the Bow taxpayer for another costly program. There are people struggling to come up with money to pay their taxes, to heat their homes and put food on the table.
